GID is a condition in which there is a strong and persistent cross-gender identification. Transsexualism is a natural, medically recognised condition, though rare. Majority of transsexuals have no identifiable Physical abnormality. The Organic causes of GID are not known and it is believed that Sociological factors play their role.
Psychological counseling mainly focuses on treating emotional problems such as anxiety, confusion and depression and teaching them unconditional self acceptance.
